“Year Long Points Race” Performance and Ranking System:

The TJGT maintains a “Year Long Points Race” awards program designed to recognize consistent and exemplary performance. The top awards “Player of Year” are presented to a player in each division that accumulates the most points based on a combination of earned “Money” and “Scoring Average."    The Player Must compete in at least 8 events per year. 

Example for determining the “Player of Year” for each division. 

Player1 earns $5,000,000.00 and ends with a 71.2 “Scoring Average.” His point average would be $5,000,000,00 ÷ 71.2 = 70,224.72.

Player2 earns $5,000,000.00 and has a 74.5 scoring average. His point total would be 67,114.094.

Player3 earns $5,300,000.00 and ends with a scoring average of 76.8. His total points would be 69,010.42. 

In the above scenario you see that although player3 earned more money player1 had a higher point total based on a better “Scoring Average”

 The criteria for participating in the “Year Long Points Race.” A player must play a minimum of 40% of the total rounds of golf that were hosted by the “TGF” during the awards year.

Example;

The TJGT hosted 20 events and all were two rounds or a total of 40 rounds hosted, a player would only qualify for the year end “Player of Year” award by playing 16 rounds or 8 complete tournaments.

Tournaments that are deemed MAJORS will have double the points below.
