About Tarheel Junior Golf Tour
Tarheel Junior Golf Tour Mission
Formerly called, the Tarheel Golf Foundation. Our mission is to have an impact on the lives of children through the game of golf. We provide young players the opportunity to play in a competitive environment, that promotes integrity, honesty, and respect to all people on and off the golf course. In 2022 TGF sold to Drip Golf LLC, and was re-branded the Tarheel Junior Golf Tour.
The TJGT provides competitive tournament opportunities that prepare junior golfers for their next level of competition whether it be middle school, high school, or the collegiate level. All 36-hole events are nationally ranked. Tournaments are held on weekends on many of North Carolina’s finest golf courses. The TJGT has a reputation of providing the most competitive junior golf tour in North Carolina. Its members include top ranked players from the “Tar Heel State” as well as top players from over 20 states. Players compete for individual tournament championships as well as for the season long Money and Scoring Leader competitions.
The Money Leader competition is modeled after the PGA Tour Money List, all tournaments are assigned a purse ranging from 5-10 million dollars in value, players earn “dollars” based on PGA Tour purse distribution formulas and the leading “money winner” receives a special award at the end of the season. The Scoring Leader is modeled after the PGA Tour’s Vardon Trophy, which recognizes the player with the lowest scoring average in tournament competition.
